Youth League Begins in Aban; Golnoor's Caracals Open in Sanandaj
Iran's league organisation has announced that the national youth league begins in Aban. Golnoor's youth team spends the opening week in Sanandaj, meeting Khane Basketball Kordestan on Wednesday 6 Aban and Andisheh Shahrekord on Thursday 7 Aban.
Two games in two days
Sanandaj hosts the first week, and the young Caracals play twice in 48 hours: Khane Basketball Kordestan on Wednesday 6 Aban, then Andisheh Shahrekord on Thursday 7 Aban.
Golnoor meet the Kordestan side first and return the next day against the team from Shahrekord, in Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari province.
A league that starts in Aban
For Golnoor, the youth competition continues a path the club has followed for years: developing players from the academy to the senior team.
Earlier this season, Golnoor Shahre-Qods won the Tehran first division title at U16 level, another entry in the club's youth record.
The Caracals
The youth team plays under the club's familiar nickname, Caracal, the name Golnoor's own reports have used for its teams for years.
The opening game is on Wednesday 6 Aban against Khane Basketball Kordestan in Sanandaj.
